I hope you had a nice weekend. Some updates:
I have a new story on the Saddle Mountain Post about Bakersfield, in which I delve into the misremembered past, the importance of space and time, and other big concepts. Please give it a read. Dave and I dig into the history and cultural significances of mustaches, which is good fun (and a bit serious). Country Music Dads is also a good newsletter to check out.

Maaaaaaan that new Ramona And The Holy Smokes album is out of this world. It actually reminds me of the energy of the Bakersfield sound. There have been a lot of phenomenal honky tonk records in the past year or two, but sometimes it's a little more restrained. I'd love to know who is drumming for that band.
